A case of murder has been reported after a 57-year-old male was found with fatal stab wounds at Vaal Park, Sasolburg on Monday, 25 July 2022.

It is alleged that the girlfriend was romantically involved with both the 57-year-old deceased and the 37-year-old suspect at the same time.

The 37-year-old suspect traced the movements of the girlfriend and caught her together with the 57-year-old on their way to work. He further stabbed the 57-year-old multiple times with a sharp object and fled on foot, leaving the girlfriend behind at the scene.

The police were called to the scene and the EMS personnel declared the 57-year-old victim dead.

Upon further investigation and tracing operation, the police managed to arrest the suspect the same day.

He will be appearing in court on Wednesday, 27 July 2022 on a charge of murder and for contravention of the Immigration Act.
