Tapile Johannes Mofokeng (35) will spend the rest of his life in prison after he was sentenced by the High Court in Bethlehem today, 11 September 2019.
Mofokeng is accused of kidnapping and murder of his girlfriend’s son (3) on Saturday 9 March 2019. The boy’s body was found two days later in the bushes following his disappearance.
Mofokeng was initially arrested for child neglect as he was the last person seen with the child and later confessed to killing him and dumping his body in the bushes.
He is sentenced to life imprisonment for murder and further five years for kidnapping. Both sentences will run concurrently.
