Members of Bethlehem police arrested six men after they allegedly kidnapped and assaulted two men.

On 15 October 2022 at about 22:15, police were summoned to a house in Morelig for a complaint of assault.

It is alleged that the six men were seen forcing two victims into their vehicles, accusing them of stealing. The victims were allegedly also assaulted with wooden sticks and a sjambok inside the workshop and later released.

The two victims, aged 37 and 41, later reported the matter to the police.

Investigations led to the arrest of six suspects and they are expected to appear before the Bethlehem Magistrate court on Monday, 17 October 2022 facing charges of kidnapping, attempted murder and defeating the ends of justice.
