On 8 August 2020, at about 18:50, the Bethlehem Public Order Police followed a crime intelligence led information with regard to a truck transporting a person who is in possession of unlicensed firearms.

The members spotted and stopped the truck on R26 Bethlehem/Fouriesburg road and searched it as well as a bag belonging to the passenger. The police found two firearms and ammunitions. The serial numbers of both firearms were filed off.

The suspect aged 22 years old hiked from Bethlehem and was on the way to Fouriesburg. He is expected to appear before Bethlehem Magistrate court on Tuesday the 12 August 2020 on charges of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
