The Makwane police, family and community were shocked after human remains covered with a carpet was discovered in sinking grave.
It’s alleged that on 27 December 2023 at about 08:00 two men came to Makwane police station reported that they suspected that there was something buried in their backyard. It’s further alleged that they saw something like a sinking grave.
On police’s arrival at the crime scene, the said grave was dug up with a spade and a soiled carpet was flipped up. They discovered a human skull, pair of jeans and a soccer t-shirt. One family member identified the clothes looked alike as that of his younger brother from neighbouring country of Lesotho who was last seen during October 2021 and they never reported him missing as he used to disappear and come back after a long time. An inquest has been opened to determine the cause of death, established whose remains belongs to.
