A woman (55) was attacked and raped on a farm in the Eastern Free State on thursday evening, 12 September 2019, whilst she was having a bath. The woman was strangled and then raped on the bathroom floor by the attacker who left after that but did not take anything. The traumatised woman who sustained severe bruises to her neck and face was admitted to a local hospital for attention.
This comes less than a week after an elderly lady, Mienie Frost (77), was found murdered on her farm at Bethlehem in the Free State. There is no other information available at this stage and there have been no arrests. Police are investigating.
