Neels van den Heever (55) and his wife Cornel were attacked in their home on Wednesday 20 May 2020, just after 04:00. They were both beaten over the head with a piece of iron by a home invader.
The couple were seriously injured during the attack and both had to get stitches from the violent assault. Neels passed out from the severity of the attack and woke to find that the attacker had fled with his wife’s handbag and cellphones.
Without protection from the neighbourhood watch, that are banned from operating, by Minister of Police Bheki Cele as part of lockdown regulations, people are left at the hands of ruthless criminals.
