A 45-year-old male Health worker at a local clinic in U-Section in Botshabelo is in police custody after he was found to be in possession and unlawfully selling ARV tablets.

On Thursday 11 March 2021 at about 19:00 Selosesha Tactical Response Team conducted an intelligence driven operation at a house in Section C1, Botshabelo. Whilst searching the house, members found 102 ARV bottles valued at R41 200-00, stamped doctor’s sick notes, doctor’s referral letters and syringes.

Upon further investigation it emerged that the suspect was allegedly selling one bottle of ARV tablets for R100-00.

The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear before the Botshabelo Magistrates’ Court soon for possession of controlled substance.
