An unknown number of males allegedly fled with an undisclosed amount of money and a pistol after robbing a Fresh Produce Market in Mannys, Welkom on Friday, 28 May 2021 at about 06:00.
It is alleged that these men entered the market wielding pistols and an assault rifle which where pointed at security officers, tellers and clients.
Security guards were forced to the teller’s office by robbers who managed to disarm one of the security officers of his pistol and also took an undisclosed amount of money from this business.
The suspects then fled the scene with two motor vehicles, a white Mercedes Benz with no registration numbers while the make and model of the second car is unknown. No reports of injuries were received.
A case of business robbery was opened for further investigation by Welkom SAPS.
