Three suspects attacked Louis Kotze (54) on his farm Kopfbrunen in the Theunissen District, Free State, on Thursday July 20.
The suspects overpowered Kotze and stabbed him four times with a garden fork.
The suspects fled the scene and at this stage, it is not clear what was stolen.
Police and Community security responded to the incident and Kotze was transferred to hospital for medical treatment.
The police are investigating the incident.
