The Ficksburg police arrested four suspects in possession of housebreaking implements on R26 last week and they are also linked to another business burglary in town.

On 5 October 2023 at about 02:00, the Ficksburg police were on duty patrolling R26 when they stopped a Nissan SUV vehicle with FS registration plates occupied by four people, including a driver. They requested to search the car and found a grinder, large pliers, drill machine and screwdriver. It was discovered later that among the arrested suspects, one is a police official from Phuthaditjhaba. All four suspects were charged with possession of housebreaking implements and appeared before the Ficksburg Magistrat’s Court on Friday, 06 October 2023.

They have also been linked to yet another case of alleged business burglary in Ficksburg in which a forced entry was gained during the night between 16 and 18 September 2023, after it was discovered by the owner that an undisclosed amount of cash had been stolen from a safe.

The four suspects aged 29, 32, 38, and 43 are back again in Ficksburg Magistrate’s Court today, 09 October 2023 for bail application.
