Members of Welkom Public Order Policing Task Team were busy with Crime Combating duties in Thabong when they noticed a suspicious looking sedan vehicle with Lesotho registration numbers.
On the 11 January 2022 at about 10:33 the vehicle was stopped and a male driver was inside this vehicle. Upon follow up and preliminary investigation, the vehicle Vin and engine number were found to be corresponding with a stolen vehicle at Ficksburg.
The driver could not provide members with proper documents to be in possession of this vehicle and the investigator of theft of motor vehicle at Ficksburg was contacted.
A 38-year-old man was arrested for possession of suspected stolen vehicle.
He will appear soon in Welkom Magistrate Court.
