A farm attack took place on the morning of 11 February 2021, in Kroonstad, in the Free State province of South Africa. A farmer, Pieter Swart, went outside and was ambushed by at least four attackers. He was stabbed in the neck and chin.
Swart, who is always armed, managed to defend himself and shoot three of the attackers dead. The other attackers fled into the bush. local farmers responded to the attack and managed to arrest a fourth suspect.
Swart was hospitalised and is in a stable condition. Had he not been armed, he would be another statistic on the long list of brutal murders on South African farmers.
The police are investigating the attack. There is no other information available at this stage.
