Farm attacks, stock theft: Rural Safety Summit to go ahead, Parys, 27 June 2022

The South African Police Service (SAPS) will host a two-day Rural Safety Summit in Parys, Free State from 27–28 June 2022.

The Summit aims to ensure the safety and security of the farming community which includes farmers, farm workers and farm dwellers as well as the prevention of stock theft in the country.

Amongst the stakeholders that will form part of the Summit include the National African Farmers Union of South Africa (NAFU), Agriculture South Africa (AGRISA), African Farmers Association of South Africa (AFASA), Transvaal Agricultural Union South Africa (TLU/TAU SA), the National Stock theft forum and activists against Farm Murders.

The Minister of Police, General Bheki Cele will deliver the keynote address.

Members of the media are invited to attend the opening session.
