Farm attack, woman (82) and son badly injured, Petrusburg

On 26 June 2020, at about 19:00, a man (50) and his 82-year-old mother were at home in Lovedale farm, in Petrusburg, in the Free State province of South Africa when their electricity tripped. The man went out with the intention of resetting the plugs when he was attacked by three unknown males.

They took him inside the house and continued to assault him and his mother. Apparently all suspects were not armed. The attackers tied both Mr Du Toit and his mother up and demanded the keys to the safe. They fled the scene on foot with a firearm and 2 cellphones.

Both victims were referred to a local hospital for treatment suffering severe injuries.

No one has been arrested and a case of house robbery has been registered for further investigation.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of suspects should please call Detective Warrant Officer Koto at 060 6993 451 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111, alternatively send info via MySAPS App.
