A violent farm attack took place during the afternoon of 27 June 2020. This is the 30th farm attack since 16 June 2020, in South Africa. The attack took place on a farm situated between Zastron and Rouxville in the Free State province of South Africa. A man, who was alone, was overpowered and very badly assaulted by two attackers with a sharpened iron rod.
During the ordeal the man managed to shoot one of the attackers dead causing the other one to flee. It took time for the man to recover enough and make the alarm, resulting in a massive response by local farmers who are tracking the other suspect.
Local farmers and police are continuing the search into the night for the second attacker. There is no other information available at this stage.
