A farm attack took place on 23 February 2020, on the farm Rosemead in Soutpan, Glen District, near Bloemfontein in the Free State Province. Three male attackers kicked down the door and stabbed former South African female farmer of the year in 2016, Mimie Jacobs, several times before tying her up in a room.

Jacobs was assaulted and tied up with an electric cable and forced her to make an e-wallet payment. The attackers threatened to rape and kill her if she did not give them the pin number.

She managed to run to neighbors after attackers fled and was admitted to hospital with serious head wounds.

Police are investigating but there have been no arrests. There is no other information available at this stage.
