Farm attack foiled as alert farmers respond to call, Tweespruit

A farm attack was foiled on the night of 15 August 2021, at 20:15, on a farm in the Tweespruit area, in the Free State province of South Africa. Alert farmers responded to a call from a neighbouring farm after three attackers were observed on the property.

The farmers mobilised and arrived swiftly on the scene. The attackers were attempting to gain entry to the home at one of the windows.

The three attackers fled as they arrived but the swift response resulted in one being arrested. Two are still being sought.

It was the established that the attackers had dug under the fence to gain entry to the property.

This scenario again highlights the fact that calling for assistance is always the better option. Far too often people are lured out of their homes and or go outside to investigate something suspicious and are overpowered.

Police are investigating. There is no other information available at this stage.
