A farm attack took place on 21 April 2022, at 23:50, on the farm Misgund near Vrede, in the Free State province of South Africa. Five armed attackers invaded the farmhouse through a back door and overpowered an elderly farmer Ben Van Rensburg (72).
The man was assaulted and tied up. The attackers then proceeded to the bedroom where the man’s wife was.
It is unclear exactly what transpired but the elderly woman was shot in the upper leg, she returned fire killing one attacker and heavily wounding another.
The remaining attackers then fled the scene.
All role players responded and the woman was transported to hospital.
The police are investigating the attack but there have been no other arrets.
