A farm attack took place on Wednesday night 23 September 2020, at 20:00, on the farm Schoonbeeksfontein, in Bethulie, in the Free State province of South Africa. A farmer, Kallie Kruger (87) who heard glass breaking went outside to investigate, he was attacked and overpowered by an unknown number of attackers who also took his firearm from him. He was then dragged back into the home and tied up with wire and assaulted along with his wife Mercia Kruger (82).

The home was then ransacked and the attackers then fled with money, household items and the couples bakkie. The local farmers and other role players responded and the vehicle was later found abandoned in Bethulie. The elderly couple was not seriously injured but have been severely traumatized.

There have been no arrests. There is no other information available at this stage.
