On Tuesday, October 25, perpetrators targeted a farm Vyandsvlei in the Heilbron Area, Fezile Dabi District, Ngwathe Municipality, Free State province.
The farming community of Heilbron assisted an Indian family after a worker spotted suspects hiding outside the family’s home. The worker phoned his employer, who also runs a shop on the premises, told him about the suspects lurking around and advised him not to leave the house. The brave worker contacted a neighbor who raised the alarm.
The neighbor activated an emergency plan and the farming community swiftly came to the aid of the Indian farmer. Three suspects were detained and later arrested by the South African Police. Two of the suspects escaped and are still at large.
An investigation continues.
