A farm attack took place on 17 May 2023, at 20:30, on the farm ‘The Heights’ in the Stomppomp area of Senekal in the Free State province of South Africa.
Damie en Zelda Stemmett were overpowered by six attackers armed with pistols and rifles.
The attackers raided the home and stole firearms, jewelery and cash.
Farmers responded and the attackers fled into the nearby mealie fields.
The attackers opened fire on the farmers but fortunately no one was injured. A bullet did however hit a farmers bakkie.
The victims were not injured during the attack.
One of the six attackers was arrested during the follow up operations.
