A farm attack took place on 16 August 2020, at 14:00, on the Belmond farm, in Marquard, in the Free State province of South Africa. Two farm workers were assaulted and tied up by at least 5 attackers and the farmhouse was plundered. A 308 hunting rifle was among the items stolen. Marquard farmers responded after the alarm was made.
The attack endured for an hour and a half. After the attackers fled the alarm was raised. At 04:20 two of the attackers were arrested. The area has been cordoned off and the responders are following up all leads.
