Elderly man attacked on farm near Villiers
Farmer and son stabbed in farm attack

An elderly farmer from Villiers in the Free State was attacked by four black men and robbed on Wednesday afternoon.

The suspects waited for him at the farmhouse and attacked him. The farm is about 11 km from Villiers.

Jan Lourens (73) was severely assaulted by the suspects. According to a neighbor, he was attacked with a pipe.

The suspects tied him up and fled with firearms, bankcards, and a mobile phone.

After the police and community security were alerted, Lourens was transferred to hospital.

Police are investigating the matter
