Edenburg man sentenced for brutal assault and murder of his wife

Andries Tabe (31) was sentenced to 15 years direct imprisonment for the murder of his wife on 19 March 2018 in Edenburg. He repeatedly assaulted her with a broom stick and after the broom broke, he took a garden spade and assaulted her with it.

The incident took place in front of their two minor children who also slept on the same bed with their severely beaten mother. She died as a result of her injuries during the night.

Tabe was found guilty in the High Court in Bloemfontein on the 30th of January 2019.

The investigation officer, Constable Erick Nkepane is being commended for securing the harsh sentence.
