Public Order Policing members arrest four suspects and recovered drugs and an undisclosed amount of money in Bloemfontein.

On Thursday of 20 October 2022, members of Welkom Pop Section 2 went to Bloemfontein and continued with Crime Combating actions in the CBD. While patrolling around Town in St George Street, members went to a shop after suspicious activities were seen taking place.

It is alleged that when members approached the shop one unknown African male ran away. Members requested to search the premises and it was granted.

While Searching they found Drugs in Possession of the shop owner and others hidden inside the shop. A suspect was arrested and the drugs were seized.

The team proceeded to Basson Street where they met 40-year-old African male who was found in possession of Drugs such as Chrystal meth.

Following information members went to Bloemside and arrested 36-year-old male for dealing in drugs after drugs such as Mandrax and Chrystal meth were found at his house. They again proceeded to a house in Heidedal where 22-year-old male was arrested after he was also found with a drug called crystal meth and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Drugs to the value of approximately R100 000 were seized and 4 suspects were arrested and will all appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate court soon for a charge of dealing in drugs.

Acting Free State Police Commissioner Maj Gen Solly Lesia said “we appreciate the continued involvement of community in the fight against crime because fighting crime needs everyone’s involvement”.
