FREE STATE – Following a drug dealing arrest in Jacobsdal, a 40-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear in the Jacobsdal Magistrate’s Court to answer to formal charges, marking the culmination of a swift and targeted law enforcement operation.

The incident unfolded on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, at 19:45. Sergeant Mnumzana, Sergeant Mangweni, and Sergeant Adams received actionable intelligence indicating that an individual was travelling to the Jacobsdal area in possession of illegal narcotics.

Acting promptly on this tip-off, the officers coordinated an interception on Hoop Street in Jacobsdal. Upon locating the individual, authorities observed the suspect carrying a green sports bag. A subsequent search of the item revealed three large plastic bags containing dagga.

The suspect was immediately taken into custody, and law enforcement officials officially opened a case of dealing in drugs. Authorities have confirmed that active investigations are ongoing to trace the origin and potential supply network of the confiscated substances ahead of the suspect’s upcoming court appearance.
