Members of the Bloemfontein Dog Unit in collaboration with the Provincial Counter Narcotic and Cyber Crime Unit made a huge breakthrough in the fight against drug related crimes in Bloemfontein on the morning of 27 April 2019.

The team worked tirelessly this week to ensure the man who is suspected of dealing in drugs in Bloemfontein is apprehended. Before the crack of dawn members went to the suspect’s house in the upmarket Spitskop Ridge suburb in Bloemfontein.

Upon searching his house the suspect had a key of a Mercedes Benz in his possession which was not at his house at the time, police searched his house. Further investigation lead them to a storage unit in Groenvlei where the vehicle was found with Cocaine, CAT, Crystal Meth, Extract and Gafief (a street name for Crack Cocaine) to an estimated street value of R130 000 00.

They arrested a 30 year old man. The police also seized thousands of rand in cash and cell phones which never stopped ringing whilst processing the suspect. They also seized the vehicle which is suspected to be used during the transactions.

The suspect will appear in court soon on charges of dealing in drugs.
