Three unknown men armed with handguns broke into the residential premises attached to the supermarket. Cash, cigarettes and Lenovo PC were robbed.

On the 18 September 2021 at about 02:44 the complainant (49) was asleep in his home attached to his business premises called Lucky King Supermarket at Ventersburg when he was awakened by noise at his door.

He then saw three unknown men wearing balaclavas who forced entry through his door. He tried to block the door but they managed to gain entrance.

The suspects were all armed with handguns and they demanded cash.

One of the suspects took the wife to the supermarket and emptied the cash drawer.

When the suspect returned with the wife, they were assaulted with the butts of the firearms on the heads demanding more money. The couple indicated to the armed robbers that, that was all the money they have. They were both tied up with a rope and left there at the scene.

The husband managed to untie himself and informed the Ventersburg Police about the incident.

On arrival of the Police, the couple were rescued as the suspects locked them inside with another different lock taken from their business premises.

A case of house robbery was registered for further investigation.
