On 7 July 2022, SAPS together with DESTEA conducted environmental operations and managed to arrest a suspect who stays in Mmamahabane. A 48-year-old male will appear in court on Monday on three charges, possession of TOPS Specimen, Free State Nature Conservation Ordinance.8 OF 1968 SEC. 40(1)(c) which specify that the suspect has no permits for TOPS Specimens and a third charge of being in the country Illegally.

On the same day operational Support, CPF and Station Commander of Ventersburg together with DESTEA continued with multiple discipline operation. They arrested another suspect, 35-years-old.

He admitted guilt and was given R3000 fine which he is supposed to pay before the 25 of July 2022 or alternatively to appear in court on 25 of August 2022.

This was after he was charged with a possession of a native plant without permit to sell under the Nature Conservation Ordinances 8/1969 sec.40 (1) (c)
