Business robbery in progress, suspects arrested in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition

Botshabelo Crime Prevention Task Team arrested three African males during a Business robbery-in-progress and seized an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Saturday 10 February 2024. First information on the planned robbery was received by the members who employed the expertise of Crime Intelligence Gatherers to follow up and work out the detailed intelligence.

Information was operationalised and the team pounced on the robbers at about 06:30 whilst busy robbing the store manager at a shopping complex in Jazzman Mokgothu Highway, Botshabelo. The 39-year-old male from U-Section; 49-year-old from Rocklands and 51-year-old from Phahameng near Bloemfontein were found in possession of cash robbed at the store and a Samsung A13 belonging to the store manager.

The police conducted a further body search and found a .38 Special Revolver loaded with three (3) live ammunition rounds. The three suspects were immediately arrested and cases opened at Botshabelo Police Station. The suspects will appear in Botshabelo Magistrate’s Court soon.
