Two suspects a male aged 36 and a female aged 35 were arrested at Senekal after they tried to bribe Captain Mayburg, head of Senekal detectives with twenty thousand rand (R20 000-00) to release business robbery suspects and destroy the docket.

The suspects were arrested on Monday 13 July 2020 for robbery at Exact store in Senekal.

The Captain told them to come later whilst he was preparing an entrapment operation for their arrest. They arrived at about 18:00 driving in a Ford Eco Sport with a Gauteng registration number.

After the suspects entered the state vehicle driven by Captain Mayburg and counted the cash he signaled for back up and two detectives came and arrested them.

Ten thousand rand (R10 000-00) cash and the vehicle they were driving was confiscated. They were charged with corruption and will appear before the Senekal Magistrate court soon.
