The four armed robbers robbed cash and hi-jacked a vehicle. Then while attempting to rob another business, two of them were fatally shot. A manhunt continues of the other two suspects.
On the 2 June 2022 at about 18:00 four unknown African men attacked, robbed cash and hi-jacked Nissan NP 200 with registration number HTS 475 FS. Then the same armed robbers entered a business premises in Welkom CBD at about 18:15.
The employee apparently managed to draw a handgun and fired shots in the direction of the armed suspects.
One suspect died at the scene and the second suspect died on arrival at the hospital. One firearm was found inside the shop belonging these armed robbers.
The other two suspects managed to escape and drove off with this hijacked white Nissan NP200.
A case of Business Robbery, Hijacking is been investigated.
