An attack on Johan and Roelien Myburgh was averted on 23 June 2018, at 10:00 in the ‘Rooipoortjie plotte’ area at Koppies in the Free State. The property is situated along the R720 near the N1.

Three attackers who were wanted in connection with other farm attacks, stock theft and housebreaking were arrested after an intelligence driven operation.

The swift reaction came from from Vredefort/ Koepel CPF, and with brilliant teamwork from SAPS Koppies and Vredefort, CIG, Task, TRT, PKRS, airwing teams. Also involvement from other farmwatch teams from Vredefort, Koppies, Parys, Heuningspruit and Meyerton.

Private dog handlers and a private helicopter and aeroplane. And NG Church Weltevrede Koppies and many more. Thank you!

The following was in their possession: a firearm with lots of ammunition, and a knife. Other stolen property (power tools, gas bottles, pc’s and firearms).
