On Wednesday 5 January 2022 members of the Tactical Response Team in Mangaung Metro embarked on a crime intelligence driven operation sweeping several areas for drugs and drug-trafficking activities from 18:00 in the evening.
The team first conducted house clearance and search at a house in Ipopeng Township. They found three quarters and two halves of mandrax tablets in a transparent plastic hidden in the bedroom. The 48-year-old male and the owner of the house were then arrested for possession of illicit drugs.
The operation continued and the team proceeded to a shack dwelling in Crawford, Rocklands. The place was searched and four full tablets, four quarters and two halves were found. The 33-year-old male was also arrested as a suspect.
Two separate cases of possession of drugs were opened.
The suspects will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate court on Friday 7 January 2022.
