Bethlehem neighbourhood watch assists in arrests

The police, security and neighbourhood watch in Bethlehem have successfully arrested two suspects and found them in possession of suspected stolen property after more than six gate motors were removed in suburbs of Bethlehem in one night.

On 7 March 2022, between 02:00 and 05:00, the two suspects were arrested and found with gate motors. There has been an outcry where community of Bethlehem reported more than 10 incidents in one area where gate motors have been stolen and the culprits have been sought.

The recent arrest of the two suspects is a major breakthrough because it could see a decline in theft of gate motors from various suburbs.

The two suspects, aged in their 30s, are expected to appear before the Bethlehem Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 9 March 2022, facing charges of possession of suspected stolen property.

The Bethlehem Detective Service requests that all complainants, whose gate motors were stolen, should visit the station urgently to assist in the identification of their gate motors.
