A 30-year-old man has been arrested for murder after a quarrel rose between him and his friend whilst drinking.
It is alleged that the incident took place on Saturday, 8 January 2021 at about 21:30 where two males were sitting together having drinks. An argument ensued between them whilst still drinking which led to the fighting.
One of them took out a knife and stabbed the other. The paramedics were called to the scene.
Upon arrival, the deceased had succumbed to stab wounds at the back and was declared dead on the scene.
A 30-year-old male suspect was arrested and will be charged for murder. He will appear at Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 11 January 2022.
Fezile Dabi Acting District Commissioner Brig Mapulane Mabeloane implored community members to stop such unnecessary murders. “It is often heartbreaking having to deal with a case that could have been easily prevented. It is not wise for our community members to react when under the influence as it makes one feel superior and free to do as they please. “I humbly request our community members to refrain from being reactive when under the influence but rather go to a place where one could easily gather their thoughts before finding themselves on the wrong side of the law,” concluded Brig Mbeloane.
