Members of the Welkom Anti-Gang Unit have arrested three individuals following an intelligence-driven operation targeting drug networks in the region.

According to police reports, on Tuesday, 17 February 2026, authorities acted on a tip-off regarding two siblings allegedly involved in the dealing of narcotics in Odendaalsrus. The information led officers to the Odendaalsrus Central Business District (CBD).

Upon arrival at the specified address, police encountered two males and one female. A subsequent search of the premises resulted in the discovery of illicit substances and cash both inside and outside the property.

Law enforcement confiscated a quantity of mandrax tablets, crystal meth, and an undisclosed amount of money from the scene. The seized items have been booked in as evidence for prosecution.

The suspects, two men aged 39 and 41 and a 21-year-old woman, were arrested on the spot. They are scheduled to appear before the Odendaalsrus Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 19 February 2026. The trio faces charges of possession of drugs and dealing in drugs.
