ANC's Secretary-general, Ace Magashule released on R200k bail

Friday the thirteenth did indeed not have anything good in store for the ANC’s Secretary-general, Ace Magashule, as he finally had to appear in court in Bloemfontein after a dark cloud of serious crime allegations has been hanging over his head for years.

The fact that the bail awarded to Magashule is so high (R200 000) indicates that the charges against him are very serious and that the state feels it has a good case against Magashule.

It also does not bode well for Magashule that a former personal assistant of his, Ms Moroadi Cholota, will testify against him as a witness for the state.

Cholota recently testified before the Zondo Commission about her involvement in the controversial asbestos audit.

The FF Plus hopes that the prosecuting authority has conducted its investigation very carefully and that it will take a thorough and comprehensive case to court to ensure that justice prevails.

State capture has done great damage to the country and it is only fitting that the accused, including Magashule, are given the highest penalty for their looting of the state coffers in the Free State if they are found guilty.
