A second victim, a 19-year-old girl, died while in the hospital last night after she suffered gunshot wounds from unknown suspects who fired shots at two farm homes.
It’s alleged that on 21 April 2024 at about 21:50, an armed man arrived at a farm in the district of Ficksburg and started shooting at farm dwellers at two houses on the farmstead. The suspect fled the scene on foot and allegedly got into an unknown vehicle that was parked along the R26 Road near the farmstead.
Police and emergency personnel were called and on arrival, the 10-year-old boy was declared dead at the scene and six others, aged between 12 and 50, were rushed to the hospital. On 22 April 2024, investigators received information that the 19-year-old girl also succumbed to injuries.
