An entrapment operation dubbed “Operation Danone” was concluded with the arrest of six suspects on Thursday, 30 November 2017.

Operation Danone’s focus was to deal drug trafficking in Bethlehem a serious blow.

Since its inception in August 2017, Cat and Crystal Meth to the total estimated street value of R19 000, an instrument used for weighing drugs, one vehicle, numerous cellphones, and drug dealing proceeds in the form of hard cash were seized.

This is thanks to the joint and committed efforts by members of Bethlehem Crime Intelligence Unit, Provincial Detectives and Ladybrand K9 Unit.

All suspects are male foreign nationals aged between 25 and 41.

They are appearing in the Bethlehem Magistrate’s Court on Friday 1 December facing charges of dealing in drugs.
