A forensic investigation is under way at Kusile and Medupi power stations. The planned 780 MW power output by the two stations just does not materialise and load shedding is crippling the country.

The truth is that contractors’ sub standard work at the two power stations has emerged.

The cost at Medupi has escalated from R69 billion in 2007 to a huge amount of R145 billion on completion, which is almost 100% increase in the construction of the one station.

The ANC government can not simply assign this corruption and theft to fraud, and it appears that there is just too little responsibility taken by them.

Observers say Pravin Gordhan can now state that “someone is making money from the Eskom”.
