Another farm attack has taken place, this time in the White River area. The couple was robbed of their vehicle, firearms, ammunition and a telescope.

At the Fakkel High School in Johannesburg, the caretaker was shot during a burglary and died during the incident. A TV and computers were stolen in the process.

Meanwhile, the two murderers, Nigel and Johannes Plaatjies, of Boland’s writer Winnie Rust, were found guilty in the High Court in Cape Town on charges of murder, robbery, and fraud. They killed her in her home in Wellington last year.

The newly appointed police commissioner, Khehla Sitole, said additional police officers were deployed at border posts to arrest criminals who want to enter or flee the country. It is uncertain whether it will include illegal immigrants.

Furthermore, motorists will have to suffer frustration at roadblocks on highways during their holiday time while vehicles will be searched.

Crime experts, however, point out that criminals prefer to use secondary roads instead of main roads.
