Angry farmers say they are not cowards and will not allow their land to be taken over without consequences or just give away their land, just because the EFF stated that they must.
EFF leader Julius Malema was again his old racist self over the weekend and agitated fans to occupy the land. He said blacks who had not yet taken a piece of land for themselves were cowards.
He also stated that EFF members who remain in back rooms are cowards and just have to take a piece of land. “It’s yours,” he said.
He also referred to a farmer near Sheshego who gave away half of his land. White farmers who give away half of their land will be allowed to keep the other half. However, if they do not want to give up land, they will eventually lose everything, is Malema’s threat.
Meanwhile, the DA has in not yet responded to Malema’s land grab statements, probably out of fear that the fragile coalition in places like Pretoria and Johannesburg may shatter.
Farmers have reacted sharply to Malema’s comments. “We bought the land and did not steal it, and therefore we do not have to give up the land. Rather, instruct your members to start working instead of plunging the country into chaos with protest actions. Then they may be able to afford the land one day, like any other landowner,” a farmer told The Vryburger.
