With violent crime on the increase in South Africa the demand for firearms by criminals is at an all time high. The public is cautioned to make every effort to keep their firearms safe. In recent months there has been an escalation in burglaries, home invasions and farm attacks, where attackers are looking specifically for firearms.
In many instances people have been brutalised and seriously injured as attackers ransack their homes looking for weapons.
Farmers, who often have more than one firearm, are warned to be especially diligent in the safekeeping of their weapons. Criminals are determined to monitor your coming and going and you could become the target of a violent attack, or your home could be burglarised for these firearms.
If you have firearms in a safe, whilst this is a deterrent, criminals are prepared to go to any length to steal them. So if you are away from your home take extra precaution and make sure your firearms are well protected.
