Farm attack: Modderfontein farm Zeerust

Zeerust, South Africa – Elderly farm-couple Colin and Maggie Cooper tied up, beaten up by 2 black males Monday 18h00-19h00 Modderfontein farm Zeerust.

North West farmer Colin Cooper arrived home on Monday-evening after doing business in Johannesburg and was attacked by two black males who had been waiting for him.

While waiting they helped themselves to a meal, reports Maroela Media. Mrs Maggie Cooper was alone at home when Colin was attacked by the two knifemen. They forced him at knifepoint into the homestead, tied up the elderly couple and then assaulted them.

They stole electronics: computers and fled in the couple’s car – which was found abandoned at around midnight near Zeerust.

Maggie only managed to free herself on Tuesday-morning and called for help. Both were injured – the details were not provided – and taken to Peglerae hospital in Rustenburg. Mrs Cooper was treated and discharged but Mr Cooper is still in hospital.

His condition is not known.
