Failed farm attack in De Tweedespruit, Cullinan

Four people were arrested on Sunday after a failed farm attack in the De Tweedespruit, Cullinan outside Pretoria.

Johannes Jafta, police spokesman said a farm worker went out to feed the cattle at about 07:00 when four armed men attacked him.

The men took the worker to the farmhouse. “The owner of the farm looked through the window and became suspicious.”

According Jafta the farm owner immediately called other farmers in the area on the radio. The gunmen ran away and hid in the bushes.

The police were called. One of the attackers fired at the police, but no one was injured. The men were arrested. “They will be charged with armed robbery, attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.”
