In a white paper on emigration, frightening but well known facts have emerged. The director of EOSA (Enterprise Observatory of SA) Johannes Wessels explains the following facts:
For every professional who immigrated to SA, eight professionals have left the country for better destinations.
Poor government and political changes are the main reason for the exodus. The investigation found that between 1989 and 2003, 520,000 whites emigrated, of which 120,000 had professional qualifications.
The same trend continued between 2004 and 2018, meaning that at least 250,000 white professionals left the country.
The ‘land theft’ issue is currently driving more professional and non professionals to emigrate.
