Brian Dames, Chief Executive Officer of ‘Patrice Motsepe African Rainbow Energy and Power’, handed in his resignation as part of Ramaphosa’s task team on Eskom, after the EFF objected to his appointment.

In a media release, Cyril Ramaphosa apparently accepted Dames’s request as he was accused by the EFF that he is involved while it has conflicting interests as there is allegedly also relatives involved.

Observers consider the actions of the EFF somewhat strange, but is also considered a psychological victory for the communist minded party.

The Ramaphosa task team has until January 2019 to come up with recommendations on how Eskom can be relaunched to recoup its billions of Rand’s losses and provide a proper service to users.
