Eskom has announced it will implement Stage 2 load shedding from 4:00 p.m. today until 10:00 p.m. on Thursday to manage constrained generation capacity during evening peak hours.

The power utility cited the delayed return of generating units (3,120 MW) and an additional loss of 1,385 MW due to unplanned breakdowns over the past 24 hours as key reasons for the outages.

Eskom stated the measure is necessary to prevent further strain on the grid and ensure continued electricity supply during workdays. Consumers are urged to reduce usage during peak times to help mitigate disruptions.
